 Iris Artist Fellows, Amaro Dubois (viola) and Carrington Truehart (cello) will take the stage with Aromi Park (violin) and Tingting Yao (piano) to offer a farewell concert to celebrate the culmination of their time spent as Iris Fellows.

Premiere of "Like a River Flows" by Tianxiang Yu

The program will include the premiere performance of “Like A River Flows” by Tianxiang “Kevin” Yu, the winner of Iris’ inaugural Collegiate Composer Competition. Mr. Yu just completed his freshman year at the Blair School of Music in Nashville, TN. For more information about the competition and Kevin Yu, click here.

Amaro Dubois, viola

Brazilian violist Amaro Dubois is this season’s viola fellow in the Iris Artist Fellowship program (IAF). Amaro earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance (with a specialty in chamber music) from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music and his Master’s Degree in Viola Performance from the University of Alabama. He has played for groups such as the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and more.

Carrington Truehart, cello

Memphis native Carrington Truehart is this season’s cello fellow in the Iris Artist Fellowship program (IAF). Truehart received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Master’s Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Memphis. He has been a member of the Jackson Symphony, PRIZM ensemble, and more. Truehart deeply values Iris Orchestra’s commitment to supporting diversity and community outreach.This will be his second year in the IAF program.

Aromi Park, violin

 Violinist, Aromi Park received a B.M. from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, a M.M. from the New England Conservatory, and an A.D. from the University of Memphis. After graduating from the University of Memphis, Park earned an Artist Diploma from San Francisco Academy Orchestra where she was awarded a full scholarship for outstanding artistry. Park was the winner of the Korean-Germany Music Competition and the Beethoven Club Young Artist Competition, and was also a founding member of Quartet EN, which won the Haneum Competition and second prize in the Korean Baroque String Competition. She is currently serving as principle second violinist with the Huntsville Symphony, a position she has held since 2019. 

Tingting Yao, piano

Tingting Yao is a collaborative pianist and chamber musician based in Memphis, Tennessee, where she is the Staff Pianist at the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. Prior to U of M, she was in demand as a collaborative pianist in Birmingham, England and Shenzhen, China, where she worked as a piano teacher in Lang Lang’s first piano school. Ms. Yao holds degrees from United Kingdom, Australia and China.
